Beas Press

Beas is a river—and now a digital logbook of experiments, ideas, and hope‑tinged dread by Imroze Singh Goindval.
Life’s gone oddly sedimentary and over‑emotional, so I’m choosing to write. Jhumpa Lahiri’s whole “doors” idea haunts me—she learned Italian, walked through that door, and wound up writing a book in it. Wild. I’m prying open my own door now, straight into the unruly-menacing-uncondtional floodplain of Panjabiat. Consider this thing my way of making that exploration everyone’s problem. The yaps will be about Panjabi literature, culture, language, and food—posts that might be a bit rancid, feel a bit unhinged, yet stay (I swear) fun. It’s personal and public at once: love letters to Panjab and Panjabiat.
I, Imroze, am also pursuing my Phd. in Population and Public Health. I have decided to take a med anthro approach to my research in a department that is very biostatistical and epidemiological at its core (lolz).
